祭奠512亡靈 呼喚人性援助
------- 北加州灣區中國汶川地震燭光追思會
自5月12日一場震驚世界的大災難------中國汶川8級大地震發生起，全世界有良知的人，都發出了同一個聲音“天災無情人有情”，共同投入到一場與大自然較量的救災行動中去，一時間傳出了無數的感人事跡，有在中國為抗震救人而獻身的英雄，也有遠在海外而心係災區的捐助人。
中國的傳統祭奠儀式中，有在生靈過世后的第五周舉行祭拜亡靈活動的習俗，俗稱“五七祭”。由北加州灣區六十多傢社團共同組成的北加州中國512地震救助委員會（NCC512）發起，在灣區的舊金山（San Francisco），富麗孟(Fremont)，庫佈蒂諾( Cupertino)等三地，6月14日晚8點共同舉辦中國汶川地震燭光追思晚會。點燃燭光，點燃心中的愛, 挥洒泪水，寄托我们的哀思。
晚會地點：
舊金山聯合廣場 Union Squire， S.F.
富麗孟 Fremont, CA
庫佈蒂諾 Memorial Part, Cupertino, CA
内容：
1) 各地由灣區華人合唱團組成合唱隊，獻唱追思歌曲。朗诵抗震救災诗文。
2) 祭拜儀式。
3) 點燃蠟燭，追思致哀。
4) 現場募捐（可銷售蠟燭，T桖衫）
我們盡可能邀請三城市的政府官員參加，邀請更多的外国朋友參加，以利將我們灣區華人衆志成城，抗震救災的信息傳達到美國主流社會中去，争取他们的援助。

To the Honorable Mayors and Officials, Community leaders, and Friends:
You are cordially invited to join us at the Fifth-Week Candlelight Vigils Memorial Service for remembrance and love of May 12 earthquake victims in Sichuan, China. We offer deepest sympathy to the children and parents and spouses and families and friends of the lost and we also demonstrate that our unity is a kinship of grief and a steadfast resolve.
The Sichuan earthquake has brought tremendous devastation to that region and China. More than 68,000 people have lost their lives and the death toll is still mounting, over 5 million residents have been displaced, and property damages are staggering. In the meantime, we have witnessed humanity and compassion from people all over the world. It is said that adversity introduces us to ourselves and we have certainly seen national character in expressive acts of sacrifice.
We hope you will join us on June 14, 2008 from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the following sites for the services: Union Square in San Francisco, Memorial Park in Cupertino, and Central Park in Fremont.
Let us comfort and console those who now walk in sorrow for each life we now must mourn and the promise of a life to come.
