During its 32 years, the San Francisco Free Folk Festival has landed at plenty of locations, but this year marks something new. The fest is taking place in a slick, just-opened college fitness center, which means the Woody Guthrie Stage is in the Aerobics Room — change has a-come. Otherwise, it's bombarding the city in its usual way, with more than 70 shows on four stages and double that number of music and dancing workshops for every conceivable genre and style, from sea shanties and the tin whistle to tap and ceilidh — the fest is as much about participation as it is about tapping your boot to a fiddler. The lineup is anchored by the klezmer/flamenco music of Fishtank Ensemble, the indie-grass of Axton Kincaid, the pub punk of Culann's Hounds, and the honk of Devine's Jug Band, among many others.
