14届北滩爵士乐节
爵士乐的爱好者自然是不容错过的，喜欢凑热闹的人也可以去逛逛。经常去北滩，觉得那里的气质真的很恬淡，这样的音乐节是在合适不过了。另外如果对爵士乐没有发烧到要一整天候在那里的程度，随意在北滩逛逛也是很惬意的事。Coit Tower， Union Street ， Front mason， 渔人码头，或者只是在海边走走看看海看看天看看云，都是很棒的短途旅行。北滩这个地方，基本上就是一步一景。前面都有人把相片放在旅游或者贴图版了，大家可以看一下，绝对不是吹嘘！

Two years after San Francisco stood up and saved the event from possible extinction, North Beach Jazz Fest has ballooned to [b]a 7-day lineup featuring 4 additional night shows[/b]. With the controversy, the sectioned-off park, and the politics safely behind it, , the Festival can now go back to what it does best, representing the soul of San Francisco. "Expanding the Festival back to 7 days and adding 2 Great American Music Hall shows may seem ambitious." said NBJF co-director Robbie Kowal "But without the politics to contend with, the music's always been a breeze for us."
Kicking off on Sunday, July 20 and spreading over the next week, the visionaries at Sunset Promotions and festival founder Alistair Monroe bring you what has been lovingly referred to as the "Soul of San Francisco." The festival boasts an annual attendance of over 50,000 and an abundance of free and all-ages programming, making it San Francisco's foremost urban music festival. In its fourteenth year, this locally produced festival presents musicians who continue to push jazz into the future, while honoring its glorious past.
North Beach Jazz Fest has purposely maintained a distinctly grassroots, homegrown feel by consistently featuring local talent, and incorporating the neighborhood's unique jazz culture into the festivities. There's also an abundance of all-ages programming including the two days in Washington Square, the Great American Music Hall shows and many of the "Jazz on Grant" events. This year, the event also includes Sunday, Monday and Tuesday appearances by jazz legends Mike Clark & Paul Jackson and weekend shows at the Great American Music Hall featuring Bitter:Sweet (Friday) and the Breakestra (Saturday). Along with the stellar daytime weekend shows in Washington Square, the remainder of he Festival's night shows will take place in intimate North Beach venues, including the Festival's home-base, Mojito.
"This is definitely not your father's jazz festival," says founder Alistair Monroe. "The North Beach Jazz Fest is about hosting a great music in one of the city's most dynamic and storied neighborhoods. We bring people together to celebrate the cultural heritage of this neighborhood and this city."
